By air:
There are
often low cost flights to Limoges (40 minutes) via Ryan Air from
Stanstead or Flybe from Southampton. You can also fly into
Angouleme (2 hours) or Bergerac (2 hours).
By car:
The
journey is approximately 7 hours drive from Calais.
By train:
You can
travel from Kings Cross St Pancras to Limoges or Angouleme via
Paris. From Paris to Limoges it is approximately three hours. We
advise that you hire a car in Limoges or Angouleme.

Petite Chabanne - beautiful barn conversion, with attached barn on
Dordogne/Haute Vienne border.
La Petite Chabanne is one long building, very big, with one huge barn for
possible storage.
It all faces south on a gentle slope, which is great for that sunshine. It is
approached by a poplar lined drive to the front.
There are patios to the side
and front and there are several trees around the house.
The
kitchen diner stretches from front to back, has exposed oak beams and is tiled,
with wide steps up from dining area to kitchen area.
There
is a large white tiled island with drawers and cupboards and 3 high stools for
breakfast seating, by the double porcelain sink, a double cooker with 5 ring gas
hob, and a tiled work surface over storage cupboards. There
is a washing machine and large fridge, also another long table with bench
seating.
Downstairs off the kitchen is a large room which could be another bedroom or

The back door leads out onto a wide patio, with
large outdoor table with large parasol and garden chairs.
There are steps up from the kitchen to a shower room with WC and basin.

During the winter months it´s important to be warm and
comfortable. With that in aim in mind we offer the cottage for long-term winter
renting for 2 people only and close off two of the bedrooms.
We exchange the summer furniture for upholstered armchairs and hang heavy
tapestry curtains. There is a wood-burning stove and oil-filled radiators.
The
Master bedroom, with en suite, leads from the living area and in both bathrooms
there are fan heaters. The cottage takes on a cosy and comfortable feel,
conducive with the time of year.
The
kitchen is integral to the living area in the style of a traditional French
farmhouse. It´s well equipped with gas stove, under-counter fridge, microwave
and dishwasher. There´s a washing machine in the 2nd bathroom and also a
dryer. In the garage there is an additional fridge and separate freezer.
All is tastefully decorated and furnished with nice features of above-counter
concealed lighting in the kitchen, picture and wall lights in the living room
and bedroom.
We don´t mind if you want to bring you dog, as long as it´s well behaved, as
this is a farming environment with sheep and cows in the adjacent fields
surrounding our property.
Our land extends beyond the garden area, around the cottage, to some 6.5
hectares, with our own private recreational lake - plenty of space for
exercising the dog and nice for a spot of fishing in the winter months. A bit
chilly for a swim - wait until May!!
The cottage is located at the end of a small country road at the end of our
village of St Priest Les Fougeres. It´s very private and tranquil with
spectacular views of the beautiful Perigord Vert countryside. We´ve a wonderful
bakery/general store in the village which is a minute´s walk away from the
cottage. We´ve also a post office (open half a day) and a bar and garage.
The village is located on the D79 between La Coquille and Jumilhac le Grand.
We´re just 2.5kms to the main RN21 road at La Coquille which is a small town
equidistant between Limoges and Perigueux.
This is an ideal location if you are seeking a tranquil environment; maybe to
write a book, a thesis or do some painting and reading. If property seeking
it´s conveniently located being just 2.5kms to the main RN21 road at La Coquille
with excellent communications to the whole area.
Nearest Airport is at Limoges, 45 kms away serviced
daily by Ryanair from London Stansted, Liverpool, the

Our village of St Priest Les Fougeres (on the D79) is

burner hob with extractor fan & large electric oven, to the side is a typically
french top loading automatic washing machine.
In the far corner is the spacious ground floor bathroom with high power shower
and extractor fan.
At the foot of the stairs is the door into the ground floor double bedroom
decorated in subtle shades, the bed is framed with a voile canopy & looks out
directly through the bedroom window which has traditional shutters.
Up the stairs takes you to the enormous master bedroom which has high framed oak
beams giving a sense of light & space. The main bed is a king size double,
resting on the original oak floorboards of the old farm house.
To increase the sleeping capacity of the house there is also a single bed made
up in a corner of the room & an additional fold up bed ready to be used if
required.
